“I’ve got through a very important test in my route towards the Giro" Zalla. “Today has been a real Basque Country stage, in which it rained throughout the day for the entire 165-kilometre route, witnessing very fast racing speeds”. “I think that we should congratulate the Astana team for the sensational work that they have carried out throughout the whole race and the intelligent way that they have managed to control the race to benefit their leader Alberto Contador. It has been a very agitated race in which the rest of the teams have tried to get up there but finally didn't manage to and have surrendered to their expertise". “On a personal level, today has been very positive for me. It has been a hard stage because of the rain, and has been raced very quickly. We had to be constantly on our guard and stay in a good position. I think I have got through a very important test in the lead up to my next goal, which spurs me on to carry on working towards arriving at the Italian Giro in the best of conditions”. |
